Spanning the turbulent River Inver, the arched bridge now carries only a minor road. The main road now crosses the river by a modern bridge about 100 yards to the north.

Old World bridges like this aways excite me. I think that style of architecture is stunning in its simplicity and beauty. I wish we still built bridges like this one. Like it both in color and in black and white though I am going through a stage where I am drawn to the black and white. I posted my bridges in both mediums, too. genie
ReplyDeleteThe beautiful stone bridge stays the same, while the surrounding foliage grows.
ReplyDeletea lovely stone bridge...it blends with the scenery.
ReplyDeleteSuch a long time since I was there and it really hasn't changed a huge amount.
ReplyDeleteLove that first shot! Why don't you come enter it in my Weekly Top Shot meme? We're on Week #11 and I'd love to see you share with me! Here's this weeks' link: http://www.theviewfromrighthere.com/blog/?p=5812
ReplyDeleteBelatedly, «Louis» thanks you for this fine contribution to Sunday Bridges.
ReplyDeleteAny idea when this was constructed? It is maybe a few 'culverts'. The river sure is in a hurry to get somewhere.
