This is one of a series of sculptures on the Knockan Cliff Trail. It takes the form of a wall supported on a metal arch. It is called 'Thrust', was designed by Frances Pelly and built by Joe Smith and Max Nowell.

Oooh, not THAT is very unique! And what a stunning setting for that wall sculpture! [Coming from Monday Mural.]
ReplyDeleteWow! I love the setting, and the sculpture. Thanks for sharing this!
ReplyDeleteVery cool art!
ReplyDeleteInteresting to see the stones upended instead of horizontal.
Not at all what I expected to see as a mural, very nice find, beautiful mural!
ReplyDeleteAt first I thought it was an outcrop of rock. Only after I read your commentary did I realize it was a sculpture. Perfect placement in the landscape. Is the rock used from this area? Imagine walking a trail in this beautiful setting and also be treated to art along the way. Man and Nature as the sculptors!
ReplyDeleteThanks for participating in Monday Mural and already widening the concept. Hope you'll join us again.
I have just discovered your blog and have had a lovely browse. Your images are beautiful to see. I have holidayed up there a few times over the years and it's a wonderful landscape to see.
ReplyDeleteVery cool sculpture. The textures are wonderful. I'm always surprised when these pieces seem to be in the "middle of nowhere"...perhaps your back is to somewhere, and it just looks remote. Nicely done.
ReplyDeleteA wall sculpture! What an amazing idea! Love the ragged, rocky outline at the top of the wall - almost like a wave of rock! So beautiful in a picturesque setting!
ReplyDeleteQuite interesting! I like all of the different colors.
